intro to wheel throwing: February-March session

$325.00

In this course students will learn the basics of throwing clay on the potters wheel. Students will learn to throw, trim, and glaze their pots. By the end of the course students will have a solid understanding of the basics of clay!

Classes are 3 hours long 1x per week, and include 10 hours of open studio time that are open and available to students any time when another class or event is not in session (these times are listed on the studio calendar). The studio is open 24 hours, so there is a lot of flexibility in when you can come! Also included is clay, and 5 free firings. (additional firings can be purchased at the studio for 3 cents per cubic inch). The first four weeks of the class are focused on throwing, while weeks 5-6 are focused on trimming and glazing.

The class will begin the week of February 15th and run through the week of March 22nd

Classes are as follows:

  • Sundays 10-1pm

  • Wednesdays 9-noon

  • Wednesdays 6-9pm

  • Thursdays 9 am-noon

  • Thursdays 6-9pm

Please note that each class builds on the last, so if you know in advance you’ll need to miss a class, we ask that you wait for a future session - we don’t want anyone to worry about falling behind! If something unexpected comes up, email us and we’ll always do our best to fit you into another class that week (if there’s a wheel open). Sub spots aren’t guaranteed.

*** Cancellations: Please also note that refunds requested before February 4th will be refunded in full, minus processing fees. After February 4th, we aren’t able to offer refunds for class cancellations.

*** also, if you are a city mud member using your member discount, please note that you won’t be given an additional student shelf for the class though we try and make overflow space available when we can!**
