city mud x The Story of Flowers: Handbuilding vase &flower arrangement workshop
In this two part workshop you’ll create your own unique vase out of clay and create a flower arrangement of beautiful local flowers to fill it!
part one: On Saturday June 13th, from 10-noon, you’ll learn the basics of hand building and create a vase of your own creation. After the workshop we will fire and glaze your vase so that it is ready for you on July 11th
part two: On Saturday July 11th, from 10-noon come back to the studio and learn about floral arrangement from Whitney of The Story Of Flowers. With her help you’ll create a beautiful flower arrangement of local spring blooms to fill your handbuilt vase
This workshop includes all clay, firings, and flowers. Just bring yourself!
We will have 5 different glaze choices for you to chose from for your vase, carefully selected so that they’ll match the flowers you’ll be using for your arrangement. The vases will be around 7” tall, and the arrangements around 7” high and 7” wide.
The workshop costs $150, which includes both parts of the workshop, all materials, firings, and flowers!

Give it a try nights

Our give it a try nights are a chance for people who are interested in learning how to throw on the wheel to try it out. Because learning to throw takes time, students shouldn’t expect to leave this class having made a beautiful pot, but they should expect to leave with a basic understanding of the steps involved in throwing on the potters wheel, as well as an idea of if its something they would like to take a longer class diving into!
The classes are on Friday nights from 6-8:30pm, and dates are announced for the classes to our email list around the middle of each month. We typically run two give it a try nights per month.
Our give it a try nights cost $85/person, and include one piece glazed and fired by our team.
If a student decides to keep a second pot they are welcome to do so for an additional $15, and we will glaze and fire it for them.
