In this course students will learn the basics of throwing clay on the potters wheel. Students will learn to throw, trim, and glaze their pots. By the end of the course students will have a solid understanding of the basics of clay!
Classes are 3 hours long 1x per week, and include unlimited open studio hours that are open and available to students any time when another class or event is not in session (these times are listed on the studio calendar). The studio is open 24 hours, so there is a lot of flexibility in when you can come! Also included is clay, and 8 free bisque and glaze firings. (additional firings can be purchased at the studio for 3 cents per cubic inch, $2-3 for a mug per firing). The first four weeks of the class are focused on throwing and trimming, while weeks 5-8 are a combination of throwing and glazing/surface decoration. For more info on what the class entails, go here
The class will begin the week of July 5th and run through the week of August 23rd
Classes are as follows:
Sundays 10-1pm
Wednesdays 9-noon
Wednesdays 6-9pm
Thursdays 6-9pm
We understand that it may be hard to make all 8 weeks of the class - while we would prefer you attend all 8 classes, we ask that you make sure you can attend weeks 1 &2 as they are the most critical for both learning to throw and using the studio space. If you have to miss a week or two, email us and we’ll always do our best to fit you into another class that week (if there’s a wheel open). Sub spots aren’t guaranteed.
*** Cancellations: Please also note that refunds requested before June 21sr will be refunded in full, minus processing fees. After June 21st, we aren’t able to offer refunds for class cancellations.
