This class is for students who feel like they have good control over the pieces they throw, and are able to throw multiple forms if you have taken our beginner 2 class or a level 2 class at another studio, this might be a good fit. In the class students will be challenged by throwing new forms and working on technical skills like throwing larger and taller. In addition to this, Jeanette will lead students through altering thrown forms to create shapes that can’t be made on the wheel. Using additive techniques, darting, and paddling students will learn how to transform their pieces off of the wheel. This class will be a great way to blend both handbuilding and throwing techniques. Put the two together and there is nothing you can’t do!
This class will come with a 25lb bag of any one of the city mud clay bodies, unlimited open studio hours (outside of class times) and 8 pieces bisque and glaze fired (additional pieces available for purchase at 3c per cubic inch).
